Love the Valley Memories.
Do you remember Wetherbey's French Fries, they were the best ! The shoe store (not Hubbell's) that had the ex-ray machine were you put your feet in & you could see the bones ? It was down the street from Woolworth's. Derby Pure Foods ? The Model and Fair Shoppes? The Rexall across from JC Penney's ? the cool way you paid at Penney's with that tube that shot your money to the office & shot the change back? |

September 4, 2009 Raphiel Mitchell | | I love your books and you. My days of going to school was mostly the same as yours the only difference is I went to public school in Hawthorne,N.J. Where I would have to walk to school about a mile. I would come home for lunch and back to school I went. In a way I like school, but my problem was I had a hard time remembering. My parents would get so mad at me I would get nervous and forget everything I learned. It seemed everybody was ahead of me. I would understand on a problem and everybody was passed that on to something else. It was a big day for me when I graduated grammar and high school. Even after that I went to business school for about six weeks program, to learn business machine. When I got a job in N.Y at a business office for a few years and then they moved to N.J. not far where I lived of I did't have a car so I had to take a two buses. Then I got married and the girls were born the rest is another story. I have to close now my neighbor coming over to put in a new computer. |
